& Legal has developed an External Counsel Program designed to offer accessible and affordable legal services to business start-ups, entrepreneurs and young professionals.
Legal advice is required for everyday commercial activity and having dependable legal counsel should be of paramount importance for all businesses. Due to high costs and other impediments, most start -ups and growing companies, although allocating budgets for marketing and social media etc., do not invest in the support of a legal team. With the intention of levelling the playing field, and eliminating this handicap in the commercial market place, we act as an outsourced in-house legal team for your company.
The External Counsel Program provides all the necessary legal support for the day to day running of your business through drafting documents, negotiating on your behalf, ensuring risk is minimised, and providing access to legal advice from anywhere in the world.
Having superior legal contracts, documents and access to legal advice is one of the most valuable assets a business can have. If your commercial venture is to be successful, you need to minimise your risk by engaging competent legal counsel. Failing to have the proper legal foundations required to protect your company increases the risk that you may incur large legal costs and miss out on subsequent opportunities.
How It Works
To begin, we perform a comprehensive legal audit on the company by working with you to highlight strengths, weaknesses and potential issues. A 12 month plan is then proposed whereby we prioritise and work towards implementing the necessary changes and revised strategies to the business. We will also amend and/or supply the applicable documents and contracts necessary for the running of your company.
The External Counsel Program works on an affordable monthly fee basis; work is not charged according to the traditional billable hour system or costing per document. Retainers range between $2000 and $8000 per month, depending on the size of the business and level of work required. It is a minimum 12 month contract with quarterly reviews.
