Conveyancing at & Legal
The legal side of buying and selling, handled start to finish
Buying or selling property is the largest transaction most people make, and the contract is where the risk sits. Our conveyancing team handles the legal side from start to finish: reviewing the contract, running the searches, managing the exchange, and getting you to settlement without surprises along the way.
We are based in Double Bay and act for buyers and sellers right across the eastern suburbs. You deal directly with the lawyer handling your matter, not a call centre or a file clerk.
Conveyancing is one part of our wider property practice. If your matter goes beyond a standard sale or purchase, into leasing, development, off-the-plan or a property dispute, our property law team can help.

How it works
Conveyancing in NSW: what to know
Do I need a solicitor or a conveyancer?
In NSW you can use either. A solicitor can also advise on related legal issues, such as title disputes, contract disputes or off-the-plan risks, that a conveyancer cannot. For prestige or complex properties, a solicitor is usually the better choice.
How long does conveyancing take?
The standard settlement period in NSW is 42 days from exchange, though this can be negotiated. We manage the process to keep everything on schedule and flag any issues as soon as they arise.
What does the fixed fee include?
All legal work from contract review through to settlement: searches, exchange management, requisitions and settlement attendance. Disbursements such as government searches and registration fees are listed separately and clearly. Compare our packages here.
Can you review a contract before auction?
Yes. We complete auction contract reviews within 24 hours for urgent cases, with a plain-English summary of anything you need to know before you bid.
